We are hiring: Regenerative Farming Marketing Expert - Full time
About SALT
Salt is an ecosystem platform that focuses on storytelling, branding, convening and enabling those that lead the charge in regenerative agriculture and aquaculture. We build extraordinary brands, content channels and communication strategies for mission-driven companies that work on changing our food system for the better.
We work on the ground and closely with the founders, companies and foundations that advance the field, consulting, strategizing and building together with them. Our team holds significant experience in agriculture and aquaculture combined with a dedicated core of mission-driven media specialists, coming from decades of experience in media and advertising, who desire to dedicate their careers to advancing our food system for the better.
This role is created in close collaboration with the Datamars Sustainability Foundation(DMSF), an international philanthropic organisation dedicated to advancing regenerative farming systems, which will be a major part of the focus for the successful applicant.
The Role
We are seeking a Regenerative Farming Marketing Expert to help articulate, elevate, and convene around our mission.
This role combines three equally important dimensions:
Strategic communications and narrative development
Brand stewardship and evolution
Design and coordination of meaningful, strategic events
This is a full-time role within SALT with a major client focus on the Datamars Sustainability Foundation, leading the account and functioning as an embedded resource within the foundation to develop and steward their brand, leveraging the wider SALT team for the success of the foundation where needed and appropriate.
The role is Europe-based and primarily remote, with occasional travel for events or field visits.
You will work closely with leadership as thought partners — helping to shape and refine the external narrative and positioning of the Datamars Sustainability Foundation. We are looking for someone who can bring structured recommendations, creative angles, strategic clarity, and seamless implementation while working collaboratively with the Foundation’s leadership.
The scope of the role includes the ability to proactively surface stories, develop thoughtful proposals, and help bring coherence to how we show up externally. You will divide your time between SALT and the Datamars Sustainability Foundation.
Your role at SALT is that of a regen ag/food expert, leading the expertise in the team on the topic and interfacing with clients from PO the field, advising the creative team with your domain expertise and ensuring deliverables are hitting the right tone and focus for the space.
You will work closely with the CEO of SALT to develop, secure financing for and promote a new program platform that will develop brand and strategic communications literacy in regen ag/food startups, growing companies and farms that aspire to develop their own food brands.
This will include you creating events, planning and giving workshops and presentations to share your knowledge and having 1-1 conversations with changemakers, founders and experts to both learn, educate and extract stories that you will turn into content, leveraging the existing team.
What You Will Do
1. Strategic Marketing & Narrative Development
Develop and implement forward-looking communications plans aligned with fundraising and strategic priorities.
Act as a strategic thought partner to leadership — proposing narrative themes, positioning angles, and structured communication approaches that strengthen clarity and coherence across our work.
Proactively source stories and content by reaching out to farmers, researchers, philanthropic partners, and collaborators (mostly remotely) to conduct interviews and gather insights.
Shape field insights, research developments, and programme learnings into compelling storytelling drafts and strategic messaging proposals for internal review.
Conceptualise and manage the content creation process across channels, including:
Website articles and project stories
Management of LinkedIn and relevant digital platforms
Campaign-style communications aligned with key strategic moments
Ensure communications are strategic, audience-aware, and mission-aligned — supporting leadership in expressing a clear and consistent voice.
Leverage digital tools (including AI-powered tools, SEO platforms, and analytics) to enhance content development, targeting, and performance tracking.
This role requires someone outgoing and confident in initiating conversations, asking thoughtful questions, and bringing well-developed ideas forward — while working collaboratively and iteratively.
2. Brand Stewardship & Development at DMSF
Strengthen and refine brand positioning and voice.
Contribute to the updating and evolution of brand guidelines.
Ensure consistency and coherence across messaging, tone, and visual identity.
Collaborate effectively with external consultants as well as the SALT content team (designers, editors, academics, videographers) to produce high-quality outputs.
Bring a strong visual sensibility and comfort with tools such as Canva (Adobe skills a plus).
For us, brand is not aesthetics alone — it is alignment between values, message, and behaviour.
3. Events & Strategic Convening
Events are an integral part of how we build trust, community, and alignment within the regenerative ecosystem.
You will:
Shape and coordinate selective, high-quality gatherings (salons, roundtables, conference side events).
Develop event concepts aligned with relationship-building and fundraising goals.
Manage invitations, messaging, simple visual materials, and follow-up communications.
Support logistics in a thoughtful and lightweight manner.
Ensure events reflect our ethos: grounded, relational, purposeful.

We are looking for someone who combines:
Strategic thinking with practical execution
Outgoing initiative with reflective humility
Comfort in both boardrooms and barnyards

Experience developing communications strategies and plans.
Brand awareness and experience implementing or updating brand guidelines.
Experience coordinating strategic events - event management and facilitation experience is a strong plus..
Strong digital fluency, including experience with AI tools for communications, SEO tools, and analytics to inform strategy and measure impact.
